Using PhotoSticky

Creating a new PhotoSticky

From the desktop icon:

  • Double click the PhotoSticky icon
  • Click the add button to add photos or drag a folder of photos to the new window to make a quick PhotoSticky.

From a folder:

  • Drag a folder of images onto the desktop icon.
  • The first 12 photos will be selected and added to a new PhotoSticky.
  • The PhotoSticky will automatically start in play mode.
Viewing a PhotoSticky
  • View your PhotoSticky by clicking the play button.
  • Move your mouse during the show to open the controls.
  • Controls include:
    • Last photo
    • Pause/Play
    • Next photo
    • Edit
    • Share
    • Save photo
  • In the top right corner of the frame is an arrow. Click the up arrow to make the PhotoSticky full screen.
  • Click the down arrow to restore.
  • In the bottom right corner of the frame is a drag handle. Click and drag to resize the window to a custom width and height.
  • In the top right corner is an x. Clicking on the x will close the PhotoSticky. You may be prompted to Save on close.
Sharing a PhotoSticky
  • Save your PhotoSticky if it was not saved yet
  • Click on the Share icon in the View window
  • You will be prompted to enter an username and password. If you do not have one yet, please click the sign-up link.
  • Once you sign-in you will be able to compose an e-mail message to friends and family. Use a comma between multiple addresses.
  • Your buddies will be saved for future use.
  • Click Send to send an e-mail invite and post your movie automatically to the web. Your friends and family will be able to see the movie and download it to their computer without a required log-in.
Saving a photo from a PhotoSticky
  • All photos that are shared in a PhotoSticky can be printed later up to 4x6 size.
  • Saving a photo to your computer will let you access this file from other applications.
  • While a movie is playing you can click the Save photo icon to save that photo to your computer.
  • The original name of the file is maintained from the person who sent it to you
  • This file is now reduced in size from the original.
Editing a PhotoSticky
  • Clicking the Edit icon will open the PhotoSticky into Edit mode.
  • Any PhotoSticky can be edited to customize the show for your viewing pleasure.
  • Photos can be re-ordered easily by dragging and dropping them into place.
  • Hovering over a photo will show you the Edit properties button and Remove button.
  • Clicking Edit Properties will give you a dialog to change the transitions and timing between that photo and the next one.
  • Clicking Remove will remove that photo from your PhotoSticky. It will not remove it from your computer.
  • Clicking on the title slide will allow you to edit that slide.
  • You can add photos by clicking the Add Photos button on the toolbar.
  • You can change the frame around the PhotoSticky by clicking on the Frames button on the toolbar.
  • Clicking on the Play button will save the changes and play the PhotoSticky.
Using menu options
Clicking the menu button on the toolbar will give you the following options:
  • New (opens a new window)
  • Open (opens a browser to find a PhotoSticky on your computer)
  • Open Recent (gives you a shortcut to PhotoSticky files previously opened)
  • Save
  • Save As… (lets  you rename the movie as a new document)
  • Share online (lets you post the movie to the web for friends to view and download)
  • Share in e-mail (lets you attach the movie to e-mail)
  • Edit Created by (change the name that appears on your movies)
  • Always on top (sticks the window to the top of all applications)
  • Close (closes the PhotoSticky)
Using the system tray
The system tray is a mini application that shows up on your start bar that lets you access certain PhotoSticky functionality. The options include:
  • New (opens a new PhotoSticky window)
  • New from RSS Channel (lets you enter an RSS feed to pull photos from a live RSS feed – see Tips and tricks #1)
  • Open (opens a browser to find a PhotoSticky on your computer)
  • Open Recent (gives you a shortcut to PhotoSticky files previously opened)
  • About Preclick PhotoSticky…. (shows information about the application. Clicking Alt before clicking About will show the version numbers)
  • Visit PhotoSticky.com… (links to the website)
  • Send Preclick Feedback (lets the user send feedback)
  • Exit (Closes the application)
